Mr. T.D. Janardhan
Mr. T.D. Janardhan is a seasoned political leader and cooperative banking expert with a distinguished career spanning over four decades. A committed public servant and a respected figure in cooperative development, he has held various pivotal roles at district, state, and national levels, contributing significantly to rural finance and institutional development.
His early engagement in community service, including active participation in the National Service Scheme and leadership roles in university social initiatives, laid the foundation for a lifetime of public service.
He began his leadership journey as the unanimously elected President of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) in Lingala, Andhra Pradesh, later rising to become the Chairman of the Krishna District Cooperative Central Bank (KDCCB). Under his tenure, KDCCB achieved unprecedented recognition, including five consecutive Best Performance Awards from NABARD and honors from the Prime Minister, Finance Ministers, and the President of India for excellence in cooperative credit and support to women’s groups.
His tenure as Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank (APCOB) was equally illustrious, with APCOB securing national accolades for best overall performance from the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks (NAFSCOB). Mr. Janardhan also served as Vice Chairman of NAFSCOB and Chairman of the National Cooperative Agriculture & Rural Development Banks’ Federation, playing a critical role in shaping national cooperative credit policy.
Recognized for his policy acumen, Mr. Janardhan contributed to India’s 10th Five Year Plan as a member of the Planning Commission’s Working Group on Agriculture, Credit, and Cooperation. He also served on key national committees focused on institutional development and agricultural credit reform.
In addition to his policy and leadership roles, Mr. Janardhan has been instrumental in cooperative education and training, chairing institutions such as the Institute of Cooperative Management and APCOB’s Cooperative Training Institute.
From 2015 to 2021, Mr. Janardhan served as a Member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, where he brought his vast experience in governance and cooperative banking to legislative service.
